Kintsukuroi

In 2022 I was a production assistant for the film Kintsukuroi, directed by Kirwin Berk. I also shadowed the director, contributing to framing choices when possible.

This film is narrative based on real historical stories. It spans the time in America where Japanese American citizens were forced into incarceration camps during World War II. Being half Japanese, I found myself connected to this story, especially since my grandpa was in one when he was a kid. It is important to me to amplify Asian American voices that experienced this injustice, and its effects.

The independent film has won Best Feature Film at the Silicon Valley Asian Pacific Film Festival in 2024, and Best Feature Film at the 2024 Sweden Film Awards.
